1.  BDE Course Program and Driving  Lessons Cancellations

Globe Driving Academy reserves the right to postpone or cancel any In-Class Session or In-Car Driving Lessons. Your instructor may cancel or re-schedule your on-road session due to illness, personal emergency, weather or road conditions, unexpected mechanical issues with the vehicle, or being delayed by a Road Test in Drive Test Center.  Pickups and drop off are from a subway station, and depending on the student's availability, location, and instructor's route may be from home but not always guaranteed as there are designated areas around the city to practice driving. It is at the instructor's discretion to offer this additional service free of charge.  Cancellation of a driving lesson by a student requires a 24-hour advance notice to the driving school at 647-351-8225 and a call and text message to the driving instructor. Failure to do so will result in a $35 charge, which is payable prior to the next scheduled driving lesson. If an emergency arises in less than 24 hours please notify your In-Car instructor or the driving school office immediately. Cancellations can be made by call or e-mail only during our office hours Monday-Friday  10:00 am-5:30 pm, Saturday, Sunday 10.00 am-2:00 pm.  If there is not anyone available to answer your call, please leave a message, or send an e-mail at  This email address is being protected from spambots. As was mentioned before,  If proper notice is not given, a $45/hour fee will be charged (or lost for the lessons, if the package was purchased).

3.   Packages Including Car for Road Test and Due Dates

If a student wishes to take the road test with the School's vehicles, he or she may arrange this at an additional cost with the driving school. This is an OPTIONAL service. If you purchase the package including a school vehicle for the road test with driving lessons, you can use the service within one year.  After one year your package is expired and Globe Driving Academy is not responsible for providing the service you registered for.  Due to the number of available In-Car Instructors, the school is not responsible for accommodating students contacting a few days before the due date. Students are always advised in the office, by class teachers and driving instructors to make the Beginner Driver Education Course or In-Vehicle Driving Lessons their priority and to finish them within one year to avoid any last-minute problems such as scheduling or missing the due dates.  Outside city fee is applied to all packages including School Car for Road Test where tests are not in Toronto (Etobicoke and Downsview Drive Test Centre). Please contact the school office to confirm the fee for the service before you or your driving instructor will book your road test. Globe Driving Academy is not taking responsibility for miscommunication between you and your In-Car Instructors in terms of price for all services offered by the company.

Record Keeping- Please pick up your certificate as soon as you finish all course requirements. The school only keeps records for two years. The school takes no warranty and cannot access files after that time. Students would have to restart the course and re-pay the course fees. Should you have any issues, please call the school immediately to resolve any issues to respect the time frame.

4.  Beginner Driver Education Course Certification

The law requires you to complete the BDE course within one year (from the date of commencement). For example: If you enrolled on April 12, 2018, your course will expire on April 12, 2019. If you do not complete the full program in one year, you are withdrawn from the system. In this situation to qualify for a potential insurance discount, you must re-register for the new course, make a payment one more time, and repeat the full course again. Certification is dependent upon your attendance and completion of all BDE Course components.  In order to be certified,  you must at least complete the full program that consists of 20 hours of In-Class theory training (pass the In-Class final test with 80%, submit 10 hours of home-link), and complete 10 hours of In-car training with a final score 80%.  You will be not certified in the following situations: a) you did not make a full payment for your course or workbook, b) you did not return your home-link or you completed your homework but after one year from your enrollment, c) you did not pass your final tests in the classroom, d) your In-Car progress report indicates that your final score for In-Car training is less than 80%, e) you did not finish your In-Car lessons within one year from your enrollment, or f) the last In-Car lesson was given after 1 year since your registered for the course, g) you completed 10 hours in the car training but did not finish 20 hours in the classroom program. The 20 hours in class must be finished in the sessions registered. Therefore, weekend or weekday students cannot mix classes with weekday evenings due to the time frame being different for both.  After successful course completion, the student will be certified online by the Ministry of Transportation the Driver Education System. We allow our driving instructor 48 hours to hand in the student's record (in-vehicle progress report). It will take approximately 2 days to record the student's information in the Driver Education System.  If you want proof of course completion for possible insurance discounts and you have been processed through online certification transactions, you need to obtain your  Driver’s Licence History (DLH). This is done by a) Request in-person at a Driver and Vehicle Issuing Office or ServiceOntario-College Park. This will be issued right away. Request online - if unable to visit a Driver and Vehicle Issuing Office.  To order a Driver License History Form Online, please click here: Driver's Licence History Search.  It will take 10-15 business days to be mailed out. The DLH search can only be requested by the driver’s license holder, as it contains personal address information.  For further information regarding DLH, you may contact ServiceOntario at 1-800-387-3445 or 416-235-2999. Before you order the certificate online or visit Service Ontario, please contact the school to confirm your certification status.   There is a $12 printing fee that Service Ontario charges to issue the document. Therefore, if you request a DLH document from the Ministry when your information has not been updated for some reason through the MTO Driver Education System,  you will lose that $12.  You are advised to notify your insurance company of course completion by providing the insurance company with a Driver's Licence History (DLH) which is proof of successful course completion. Globe Driving Academy does not issue paper certificates. The school only certifies students who successfully complete a BDE course online through the Ministry of Transportation Driver Education System. Globe Driving Academy is a Ministry of Transportation-approved Beginner Driver Education Course Provider and is recognized by the Insurance Industry. However,  the Driver's Licence History does not guarantee a discount for the Insurance. The final decision of a discount is up to your insurance company.

The student must have a learner's permit in order to begin his or her driving hours. The student must present their driving permit (G2/G Licence)  to an In-Car instructor, prior to each car instruction.  If she/he does not $30 will be charged and the lesson will be canceled. Globe Driving Academy offers driving lessons 7 days a week starting at 8 am‐8 pm. 7. Drive Test Center Cancelation and GDA Services Fee

Drive Tests take place year-round.
They are sometimes affected by weather, power outages, emergencies, and traffic issues. A service disruption may cause you to miss or arrive late for your exam.
