Insuring a Vehicle in Ontario

There are three items required for driving: A valid Driver's License, Insurance, and Ownership.  Every vehicle that is registered in Ontario must be insured. Insurance helps a vehicle owner pay for the cost of a collision. You can buy insurance from a company by paying a premium. Premium is the amount of money for coverage over a specified period of time that you have to pay the insurance company in equal monthly payments. In Ontario, you can pay your insurance premium monthly, quarterly, or annually. Coverage is protection against a specific kind of loss.  When you are driving you are always covered under the policy of the vehicle owner,  not a driver.
