Globe Driving Academy:  Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which training is offered by Globe Driving Academy. The provision of training is subject to the acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  1. The school reserves the right to postpone or cancel any class.
  2. Payment Method.  You can pay online using Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. We also allow you to pay directly from your bank account with online banking. If you do not wish to pay online, we can process your payment over the telephone. We will also accept payment through the mail, by money order or certified cheque only. Do not send cash in the mail. Cheques should be made out to Globe Driving Academy and should clearly indicate your name and address.  All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  3. Once a course is started at GLOBE Driving Academy location it must be completed at this location
  4. Beginner Driver Education Course (BDE) consists of 20 hours of classroom theory, 10 hour HOME-LINK  (homework) and 10 hours of private in-car driving lessons.
  5. Certification is dependent upon attendance and completion of all classroom sessions (including Home-Link - completed and submitted) and in car lessons. A passing mark of 80% or greater must be obtained in each.
  6. Student must present their driving permit to in-car instructor, prior to each car instruction. If the result is a cancellation of doing so, the student will be charged $30.00, which is due the same day or prior to the next scheduled lesson.
  7. Due Date of BDE is expired with the school at the end of the 11th month. i.e Student enrolled on April  12, 2012- course expires and students are withdrawn on March 31, 2013. 
  8. Cancellation of a driving lesson by a student requires a 24-hour advance notice to the school and/or driving instructor. Failure to do so will result in a $30.00 charge, which is payable prior to the next scheduled driving lesson. If there is not anyone available to answer your call personally, please leave a message. This method is also accepted but the 24-hour notice still applies. If an emergency arises in less than 24 hours please notify your instructor or the office immediately. Outside city fee is applied to all packages where tests are not at downsview, etobicoke, or metro east cnetre. 
  9. For the classroom sessions the student is required to bring with them, a pen, paper, driver's handbook and driver's permit.
  10. Your instructor may cancel or re-schedule your on-road session within 24 hours due to illness, personal emergency, weather or road conditions, unexpected mechanical issues with the vehicle or being delayed by Final Road Test.
  11. The student will be CERTIFIED in the Driver Education System once the course has been successfully completed and paid in full.
  12. Pick ups and drop off are always from home address. At times, pick up and drops can be work or school. It is to the instructor's discretion to offer this additional service free of charge and if drop off of will be at work address or home address. It is mot instructor's responsibility to pick up student from one location and drop off at another location. 
  13. CERTIFICATION PROCESS: Once the student has completed the full course - including the 20 hours of classroom, the 10 hours of HOME-LINK  (required sheets completed, signed & submitted) and 10 hours of in-car driving lessons (signatures are required from the student for each lesson and on evaluation) this will begin the Certification Process. We allow our driving instructor's 48 hours to hand in the student's record. At this point then it will take approximately 15 BUSINESS DAYS to record the student's information in the Ministry of Transportation - Driver Education System. This will allow the student to be eligible to book and have a G1 Road test (G1 to G2).
  14. BDE Students- Students must complete 20 hours in class, 10 hours in car, 10 hours home-link package and vehicle for the road test within specific times. The 20 hours in class must be finished in the sessions registered. Therefore, weekend or weekday students cannot mix classes with weekday evening due to the time-frame being different for both. Students must complete all 20 hours in class within the first 6 months from the enrollment date, complete 10 hours home-link within first 8 months, and 10 hours in-car` instructions, plus vehicle for the road test (if applicable) within 11 months. The last month is to send all of the information to the MTO for the certification process and have the DHL ready to be picked up as i can take up to 15 business days.  Due to the volume of students please contact your in-car instructor or the school by the 10th month to discuss availability and book lessons. The school is not responsible for accommodating students contacting few weeks before the due date. Students are always advised to make BDE their priority and  to finish the course within the first three months to avoid any last minute problems such as scheduling, missing the due dates.
  15. TO OBTAIN A DRIVERS'S LICENCE HISTORY (CERTIFICATE) FOR POSSIBLE INSURANCE PURPOSES: Once the student is in the system this will allow them to get a Driver's License History (Certificate). The student can go to any Driver and Vehicle License Issuing Office in the city of London or Ontario, request a Drivers License History for $15.00, along with their Drivers License and the Drivers Licence History Application (The Driver and Vehicle License Issuing Offices do not provide this form).   16. I authorize GLOBE DRIVING ACADEMY to release any information required on my registration form, student record and in the Driver Education System to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Insurance Council of Canada (ICC).

 PLEASE NOTE: GLOBE DRIVING ACADEMY is an M.T.O. Approved Beginner Course Provider and is recognized by the Insurance Industry but the Driver's Licence History does not guarantee a discount for Insurance. The final decision of a discount and how much is up to the insurance company. The school has many packages and student must contact the school to clarify all packages and options.
